After a near miss in another forum (I thought something similar might be a strat larva) I would say this might be a tabanid larva. Theo or maybe Tom probably can confirm if I am right.

It might be a Tabanidae. But then again, it might be something else (in Nematocera). Consult Ton van Haaren. Theo Zeegers |
