Hello, this fly, whose length I estimated 9mm, is from July from about 2000m height in the austrian alps. My guess would be a Callicera species because of the long antennae. Is this correct? Hello, I think that, in the genus Callicera, the arista is at the end of the third segment. I would bet on a Microdon. Pierre Duhem |

As Pierre says it looks like a Microdon, which in the Gallery we have M devius.

Hello Pierre, hello Roger, yes you are right. I will label the pictures as Microdon sp.. Are there other species than Microdon devius here in middle europe? Thanks, Michael |
