Right, Chrysomyia but not albiceps. There are several afrotropical species. Theo |

Africa is very rich for Calliphoridae, there are Lucilia-like Chrysomya and Chrysomya-like Lucilia etc. Nobody knows is steam-vein hairy or not in this fly. I'd say Greenbottle, neither Ch.albiceps, nor Ch.megacephala... Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

I agree with Nikita, since this is really Afrotropical, let's be more careful. I have the keys to the Afrotropics, so if any of this material has been collected, I can get a positive ID. Theo |

Material collected, as in fly captured? Then no, I don't have any. Thanks for the help. Muhammad ____________________ www.micro2macro.net |

Yes, as in fly captured. So if you really want to know the proper names of these flies, I'm afraid collecting in necessary in most cases. Theo |
