I remember this fly as quite big but think it is a pendulus.
But when I look at other pendulus photos from same place it seems different.
Could it be something else?

This is not H. hybridus.
My guess is Helophilus affinis (posteror margin of tergits black, and pale fore tarsi).

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
