Hi, I think theses may be larvae of Dixa sp. But I have very few books or pictures about them, so can be wrong easily Can anyone confirm? Larvae found in a semi-thermal stream that usually does not freeze in winter and is full of introduced tropical aquarium weeds and also with Riccia water moss. At the edge of Bükk-mountains (where Dixa-s do occur) in Miskolc-Tapolca, April of 2007. Sorry for low quality. pwalter attached the following image: [89.59Kb] Edited by pwalter on 12-12-2008 20:43 |

Now I created an artificial environment to take a better photo of the specimen stored in alcohol - just to show how it looks like. Also taken some microscopy-images using image stacking: maybe possible to ID on species level?
