A small fly on tree trunk

Size around 3mm. May 13, 2006. A number of these flies walked busily up and down the trunk of Alnus. I spotted some bark beetles (Scolytidae, Dryocoetes alni) and their predators (Salpingidae, Rhinosimus planirostris) on same tree. A few specimens is collected, so maybe there's no need for further guessing. I just thought my remark could lead to a quick jump to a specific family/genus. |
