Hello!

Any doubts whether this is Lonchaea chorea? Found yesterday on Crataegus (Ostwestfalen/Germany). Length about 4-5 mm.

Hi Jurgen

No doubt that this is a Lonchaeid which looks like it has all black tarsomeres and a pale squammal fringe, however there are several very similar species with this combination of characters and the best way to reach a detemination is by examining the genitalia - it looks to me like the thoracic dorsum is a bit too shiny blue black for it to be L. chorea ........ I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
