Tony, This pretty Cyrtopogon female must be C. alleni, one of the rarer species of several Cyrtopogon which are restricted to extreme eastern N. America. Although I haven't actually seen representatives of this sp. in collections, I am familiar with most of the remaining American Cyrtopogon, and I have arrived at this ID by eliminating the alternatives. Excellent find & photo (as always!). Regards, Eric |

Thanks Dr. Fisher, never ever expected to get an ID to species. Now to find a male! |
