I saw this Villa on July 10 in Hasliberg at ca 1000 m altitude. On Hogweed in fertilized grass land. At the wing base there are small white discs - in wasps this would be called the tegulae ![]() I have more photo's if additional details would be needed. An additional photo. I got the strong impression that the abdomen was bent in a slight angle, below the stripe.

Similar to V. cingulata but some parts of Switzerland harbour surprisingly southern species so cannot assume it is one of the northern European species. |
