Spotted about 5 in the same place. Very near and licking on small algae. Near a little stream and stagnant water.

No, this is Setacera (hairy face and mouth-edge, and a large bristle on the outer side of the first flagellomere). Species can be difficult to separate - would prefer to see a specimen!

I have specimens, yes.  I will return to serra da estrela this week to catch some specimens requested and then I can send some for you. Possibilities: aurata (Stenhammar, 1844) (10) micans (Haliday, 1833) are there other possibilities?  |

S.aurata is the most likely, but any of the others (micans, trina, breviventris) could turn up - I don't think we know enough about their ranges and habitat preferences to say for sure.
