Hello Flyreader,

This fly with gold-bristle-thorax and draught-board backbody is, as far I can see Pollenia(?)
It's a man and female and the M-vain in the wing makes a sharp corner.

When this is Pollenia sp., which Pollenia could this be? (in the Netherlands)
When I read some forum-items about Pollenia, I understand that these flies could not be identified by photo's, only by microscope. Is it?

regards, Robert

Hi Robert

Your information is correct:
most Pollenia can be identified only by the male genitalia
