Hello! The most numerous Diptera at the moment here in Ostwestfalen/Germany are the dancing winter midges. Often the dance obviously was successful: This pair even did not let disturb themselves by a passing spider (Macrargus rufus male - also seeking for a mate and just as uninterested in the potential easy prey): http://insektenin..._rufus.jpg Is it possible to tell the Nematocera family? Maybe Trichoceridae (the size would fit)? Thanks in advance! Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

I think yes, Trichocera sp. On your first photo diagnostic vein A2 fastly curving to wing margin is good visible. Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
