I guess it was too easy, didn't think any Dipterist would have ever looked on the ventral surface of a Gyrinid![]() Not that easy to photograph - have to catch one first and they are slippery - but after that they are incredibly reflective. |

Too easy???? For me is completely impossible. About seven Gyrinus species in my zone, and other two more genus of Gyrinidae... |

My mistake. I was trying to make the point that the Family was also found in Europe and not restricted to North America (assuming that there are some Families unique to NA). Anyway, I was simply looking for the Family. Paul interpreted my question literally. I have no idea what it is beyond the genus level. |
