It is its cousin D. carbonarius.

Theodor didn't separate the two, both occur in Israel.

How do you distinguish D. carbonarius from D.nigritus ?

One is black (carbonarius), the other is black (nigritus). Grin

The male of nigritus is supposed to have clear wings.
These wings are clearly infuscated, so carbonarius.


By the way: the eyes are touching, so it is a male.

This feature applies to males only !!
