2-3 mm, on the sand near the beach.
If it is Chloropidae, than with enlarged f1 with strong spines it have to be Chaetoscelis?
In Russia there is only Ch. russica with stonr "grey dust". Than another species?

Yes, this a chloropid. Perhaps the fact that the two scutellar setae are set on small tubercles can help to but a more precise name on it.

Hi there,
Nice finds! So do you proceed with pinning the critters? What's the weather like?

1. Thank you Paul. Could you glance a look pn another one. Making image I thought that in is the same (Chaetoscelis?), but than discover that probably another species. Same size 2,5mm, on fresh camel excrements.
2. Hi Dima. Not hot, at night even cold. And much more dry than in Sahara, even no morning condensation. See you Friday.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
