This very tiny (2mm) fly was observed on January 12, 2006, in the Lot-et-Garonne (S-W of France). No other photos than this one, sorry. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Dimitri Geystor |

Sphaeroceridae, subfamily Limosiinae. Many species have larvae living on dung or other decaying organic matter. With the combination of the shape of the antennae, body colour and wing venation it cannot be something else, even if the characteristic thickend hind metatarsus is not visible.
