Have a nice Day. One Question please. Is it possible to identify this Pollenia species more precisely? There were 14 specimens. Is it likely a common species? I would be very grateful for an answer. Discovery data: Austria, Lower Austria, Tattendorf, 220m, house facade, 1.3.2026, size approx. 8mm. Kind regards Karl. karl7 attached the following image: ![]() [133.17Kb] |

A male, pale basicosta, 2 posteroventral bristles on tibia 1 and the facial carina seems to be narrow. 1. if femur 2 and 3 have yellow posteroventral hairs: probably P. angustigena, a common species 2. if femur 2 and 3 have only black posteroventral hairs: probably P. rudis, the most common species Greetings, Eric |
