Hello,

I photographed this fly in Bazzano (AQ), Italy, 600m a.s.l. on October 2nd 2024. In this case I'm not even sure which family it may belong to. Is it possible to identify it based on these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Thank you! I'd never seen a Macrocera with this colouration before.

Macrocera crassicornis is a species that has banded antennal segments according to the British Handbook...
