Hi Here is a Hoverfly (body length ~= 10 mm) found last Sunday in a wooden part around a golf course which is surrounded by the city. It belongs to genus Eupeodes but is quite different from those I'm used to (luniger, corollae, latifasciatus). The abdomen pattern is +/- close to latifasciatus but the front pattern is closer to luniger. So it could be something like E. bucculatus or E. goeldlini? Or a strange luniger (because habitats described in "Syrph the Net" for the two others doesn't really correspond to the place I found this hoverfly)? What do you think about it ? Is it possible to know the species? bucculatus and goeldlini seem to be very hard to distiguish but I'm not sure that the second species has already been found in my region. Thank you in advance.
