Oryctes : France : Lille : 59000 : 26/12/2023 Altitude : NR - Taille : 7-8 mm Réf. : 335287 Oryctes : France : Lille : 59000 : 26/12/2023 Altitude : NR - Taille : 7-8 mm Réf. : 335288 Hello, I found this Stratiomyidae larva in my garden in Lille (France) at the end of December. Could it be a larva of the species Chloromyia formosa, a species that I often see flying around my garden ? In the photos the larva is first extending then contracting for its crawling movement. Can the appearance of the anal segment correspond to the species mentioned ? Thank you in advance for your answers. Sincerely, Dominique |

My first impression based on colouration is that you are correct. The anal segment is, unfortunately, not razor-sharp. Theo |
