Hi,
This small fly was busy on ivy in Berlin on 8th October. I think it could be Hydrellia maura or H. griseola, but I don't know how to tell them apart. Help is appreciated!
Thanks, Sundew

Brown dusting extends onto the notopleuron, so that suggests this is H. albiceps (= H. maura)

Ah - H. maura has become a synonym, good to know. Many thanks for the enlightenment!

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
