Hello,

This fly was on a blackberry leaf in Hesse, Germany on September 30th, 2023.

Am I correct in my assumption?

Hello Heiko, from what I see, that Pollenia female has a black basicosta, so it's not P. rudis! A possible candidate would be P. labialis, but to be sure we need sharp lateral and dorsal (incl. abdomen) photos.
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Hello Eric,

Oh, this is going to be difficult.
Unfortunately I don't have any better photos of the animal.
But I'm also glad that I at least got the genre right.

Thank you Eric
Best regards, Heiko
