Hi everyone,

Here is specimen caught close to my previous specimen H montana in the Pyrenes.

I believe this is H distinguenda, with those yellow hairs on reddish abdominal part and red on 4 tergites (and fin space between eyes).
To confirm, I looked to find subgenital plate. In order to do so, I tryed extracting what lies under last sternite, but I only manage to find an hidden sternite.

Before making another butchery (extraction wasn't succesfull, see last picture), I ask for some advise: do I have to look under last sternite (like I'd do for Sylvicola) or is there a better/other way to do so?

The hidden “sternite” = subgenital plate.

I can see it loud and clear in your pic.

And yes, this should be female distinguenda.

So mistery of the hidden sternite is now solved! Grin
A good thing I didn't butcher this subgenital plate!

Many thanks on preventing that and confirmation! Grin

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
