Hello,

at first I thought, I had found a Stratiomys longicornis (rather surprising in August), but then I saw, it must have been a Tabanid. On Heracleum near a small brook (northwest Germany), about 15 mm.

Many thanks, Theo!

I had found that species only once before, but that was 19 years ago and end of May (30.05.2003). Must have been on Anthriscus sylvestris at that time. I've only got some bad photos with a cheap camera.
