Hi all,

A few days ago I took some pictures of a fly on a Solidago blossom. At a first glance it looked like a little wasp, but, of course, it turned out to be a fly. I think it might be Cylindromyia bicolor, but I'm not sure. Is it possible to confirm or reject that from the pictures?

Germany, Southern Bavaria, Munich (-West), Garden, Solidago blossom, 10.08.2026, app. 10 mm BL

Greetings, Uli

It is sad news. I read him a month ago, as he replied to me about a wrong identification. He was brilliant, as always.
