Another from today's collection with continued apologies for the poor quality due to the low light (that's MY story!). Could it be a Geomyza?

Hi Sarah,

Before long you will be the expert giving advice to others. You seem to be learning quickly in a wide range of families. I have to admit that my knowledge is limited to a small number of families.
In this case you are indeed dealing with a member of the genus Geomyza. It is a nice picture of the female of Geomyza tripunctata. In southern Europe Geomyza tripunctata often has a rather reddish thorax, but this specimen looks more like the ones we find in The Netherlands.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
