Hi, I know this isn't the easiest of genera for photo-identification, and I wasn't given enough time to get good quality photos. But maybe the experts here still can find enough details to make out which species this is? It concerns this observation: https://waarnemin...215705747/. 1 Siphona spec. imago, seen date: 2020-10-14 location: Wageningen - Wageningse Bovenpolder (GE) photos: Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Rayan Majoor |

Hi Rayan, I've tried to use the T&H key on your images and ended up with rossica (but some characters are not clearly to be seen and fauna.eu doesn't report it for the Netherlands): - epaulette visibly darker than basicosta? - 2nd antennal segment yellow (base of third, too?) - 2 strong marginal bristles on tergite 2! (see https://diptera.i...d_id=88303 Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |
