Two small flies- first 2.5mm body length 2nd 2.2mm body length both taken recently South coast UK.
Suspect #2 is another hybotidid fly ?

Any ideas ?
Thanks

#1 (with the long hair on the head) probably belongs to family Phoridae.

Second fly is not a Brachycera, so can not be Hybotidae. It is a Nematocera, but I can not tell you the family with certainty.

The second is a ceratopogonid.
