Hello!
I took a photo of the following Eristalis on a buckwheat field in July in Germany.

Can anybody help with identification? It looks similar to Ersitalis tenax for me.

Hi, I'm quite sure, it's a male Eristalis arbustorum. Tergite 2 & 3 with yellow patches, tergites with white base.

From this angle, I find it hard to rule out Eristalis abusiva. Do you have any photo where the contact area of the eyes (above the antennae) is visible?
