Is it possible to ID this male specimen of Machimus measured 18,5mm and pictured in Belgium on July 12th ?

This is a male belonging to the Machimus setibarbus-complex.

So , impossible to make the difference between M. setibarbus and M. cyanopus ?
Perhaps a female could help ?

:-) No, females are near to impossible to ID from pictures. You can add the following species: M. caliginosus. We are working on the problem.
