Hello,

I observed this Polistes the 4th of June in the north of France. I think of a Polistes biglumis but I don't know the criteria to distinguish it from other species ?

Cordially Maxime

Bonjour Maxime, I think you are right with P. biglumis:

- Malar (cheek - between eye and mandible) black
- Mandible with yellow spot (hard to see, but it is)
- Flagellum dorsally black, ventrally yellow/orange
- Clypeus with black, horizontal bar
- Mesoscutum pubescent

Regards, Eric

Thank you very much for your help, and what other species are possible in my region, I only know biglumis and dominula ?

I think, P. nimpha could be possible, too.
The most obvious difference to biglumis is the yellow malar space.
