A strange small (0.5cm) worm like animal, nocturnal, living inside small tunnel in mudbank. Shying from light, attracted towards insects getting trapped in silk threads made by some spiders. could not see it actually catching insect.
Is it some type of worm or a dipteran larva?

The hole from which it came out is seen near the left end. the white strands are silk strands spread all over, could be from nearby trap door spiders.

Not sure, but I think it is closer to Mycetophilidae larvae. these larvae are also capable of making silken threads.

thank you sir. And some are partly predatory, so that might explain their behavior of coming out when small insects were near.
