Hi,
I am not able to figure out what the exact family name of the robber fly as shown in the picture is.
Can anyone give me a hint or clue to look further?

I thought it was BRACHYRHOPALINAE. but that's not correct.
Also the color of the eyes is somewhat strange to me.

Yes, this would also be my best proposal, but in most cases female Tolmerus-specimens on pictures can not be identified to species level.

Of course Danny is right but the other look-a-like species have never been recorded from the Netherlands, so so I think you can savely name this one T. atricapillus
