Hi!

I found this beautiful wasp in the abdomen of a female Mantis religiosa. Some time ago Isidro showed us similar wasps in this thread:

http://www.dipter...ad_id=7849

Does this belong to the same species of Isidro's thread? And is it possible to reach a conclusion about its species/genus/family?
Thank you

Hi Jorge,

Yes, I collected it ;). The wasp is not dead, how the hell did you want me to put a dead wasp on the abdomen of a mantis????

I also noticed the absence of the 1st pair of legs, it is very strange...

Does anyone have any idea of the species? At least the family.

maybe it took off the leg to escape away from a possible predator. Spiders do that. I don?t know if this scelionid wasp do the same..

Yes, maybe....

So, you are sure that it belongs to the family Scelionidae?

not sure, but the habitus and the way the antennas look for, leave me to Scelionidae. But again, not sure.
