Hi, could this guys be Phileris possompesi? Photographs taken by Joan Balfagon, September 2018, coastal sand dune habitat at the east of Spain. Regards

Interesting picture! It certainly looks like a Phileris species but a closer look at the hypopygium would be necessary, just recently also Phileris prionstylus was added to the Spanish list. Is there a lateral view of the hypopygium?

I am sorry but there are no more male photographs. I thought the detail from this picture whas high enough to diagnose possompesi VS prionostylus according to Tsacas&Weinberg 1976. Thank you for your answer anyway Reinoud |t

I do admit that this hypopygium looks different from prionostylus but to be sure a closer look would/could be enlightening. For now I (just being cautious), I think it might very well be P. cf possompesi. Could you give a more precise location?

Of course, the location of the pictures is Valencia, Spain, coastal sand dunes. Thanks again.
