These very active small hairy Asilidae where photographed in the Elburz Mountains, north Iran on 25 August 2018. Can they be identified?
Altitude 2400 meters. gps 36.222, 51.605

Just from browsing and looking at pictures.... Pycnopogon perhaps?

Yes, it's Pycnopgon, a choice of several species that are very similar.
