Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Wasp. Ammophila? Podalonia?

Hi everybody,

This picture of a wasp has been filed under U.F.O. for a little too long, if you ask me.

I'm quite sure it is n?t an Ichneumonidae. I'm guessing something in the direction of Ammophila or Podalonia sp.

Has anyone got a better suggestion or maybe even a full ID?
(The latter in full wishfull thinking, of course)

I do not see the cells of the wing nor the articles of the antennas but it resembles the genus Trypoxylon in Sphecids

It is a Trypoxylon spec. (Crabronidae).
