This specimen of a
Eupeodess sp. was photographed by me on
Acacia cyanophylla flowers, near Bogaz, northern Cyprus on 4 April 2017. So far as I can ascertain just three species of this genus have been recorded on the island, these being:
Eupeodes latifasciatus, E.corollae, and
E.nuba.
It is clearly not
E.latifasciatus and does not look quite right for
E.corollae as I see that in the UK. I understand that
E.nuba is very close to
E,corolla but have no further information about
E.nuba. I wonder therefore if someone familiar with this species can advise if this is indeed
E.nuba or just a variation on
E.corollae. I do have additional images and the specimen.
Many thanks
Alan
