Other Dixella is possible, but D. filicornis is relatively more hairy than other species and also it has a characteristic basal plate (see picture below taken from Disney 1999) or photogalery (
http://www.dipter...to_id=5496). It is very hard to discerne these characteristics.
Could you tell me were it was collected?

I found this larva in a small pond near the forest at Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache in northern France.
