At least, I think it is a Tachinid.
10 mm,
Chaumont-Gistoux (B), by the road side in amongst assorted weeds.

Yes, it's a tachinid but I am not sure which one without seeing the face a bit clearer.

Here is my only other picture of this one, never had time for a third one! I am afraid it is not much more helpful, yet a little bit more from the front, perhaps...

Indeed, a TAchinid in the genus Linnaemyia.

Can't give a species, but it is consistent with the most common one L. tessellans.
