Hi again,
can someone veri- or falsify this as Xylota segnis? Are there similar species to find in middle Europe?

We can't see enough the bristles on the femur 3... do you have a lateral view ?

Unfortunately not... it was just last week when I realised that also Syrphidae are so hard to determinate, I was a bit blue-eyed I guess... so before that I didn't take so many pictures of most of the Syrphs.
Is the genus Xylota correct though?

Yes,
Xylota is right.
X. segnis could be right too, because of the bristles on he ventral side of the femur 3. But I prefer to be prudent (we can't see if the bristles are long enough, but I think so).
