Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Craneflies?

Spotted these odd flies in a small wood with ponds Yesterday. Both about 11mm body length. Thought initially they were scorpion flies but the mouth parts do not look correct. I think this is a male and female of the same species. Appeared to be active in daylight.

Thanks Jorge- not sure about those but think they must be craneflies of some type.

Someone on another forum has suggested they maybe Ptychoptera contaminata
