Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Dipteran larva or not?

Is this possibly a larva of Diptera or does it belong to some other order? It was found under bark and measured about 18 mm. West Virginia woodland, USA, 4 May 2007. ID help would be appreicated.

With the slimey/webby substance, most likely Keroplatidae, maybe Mycetophilidae.

Resembles Sciophila sp., Mycetophilidae, but it has too black head differing it from typical Sciophila
