I am VERY new to diptera, as my main interests lie in the odonata and coleoptera. Interested in learning more about flies, particularly those attracted to carrion, dung, and human remains. Have tried to search for some sort of field guide to these families, but have come up empty. What would you consider the ONE essential reference for a beginner interested in these groups? I am located in Wyoming, at an elevation of about 5500-9000 feet, should that be a factor in your answer. I have several "forensic" books, which give verbal descriptions, but nothing really along the lines of a user-friendly illustrated guide.
