Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Gall Midge hanging from spider web

This tiny little creature I first thought was a fragment of wing hanging from a spider web. Instead, it turned out to be a complete fly.

With the "fur" on the wings I thought briefly of Moth Flies, Psychodidae, before settling on Cecidomyiidae.

By Googling "hanging gall midges" I came up with Tony Irwin's excellent write-up, and Troy Bartlett's excellent photos, of Aphidoletes aphidimyza. Is that what this is, or Aphidoletes sp. anyhow?

ID help appreciated.

In "ravine" (water present whenever it rains), forest, West Virginia USA, 23 May 2007. Length 2.2 mm.
