Hi, i reared this fly from its pupa, but have no idea what it could be. The pupa fell from Hawthorn i collected for feeding some caterpillars. I don't recall seeing any infected caterpillars or any fly larvae. However the pupa were lying on the bottom of the container when i cleaned the container. There were three pupa.
The flies were 6-7 mm long. Taken in Salisbury from Hawthorn near the River Avon a couple of weeks ago. They hatched 5 days ago.
Any thoughts would be welcome, i'll load up a couple of images.
Thanks
Richard

Sorry Richard, Not enough detail and a bit dark for an ID by photo. If you'd like to send the specimens to me then I'd be happy to key them out and give you an ID - just PM me. :)

It's a possibility - send them over - i might be able to PhotoShop them if they are high-enough resolution. :) What happened to the specimens, if you don't mind me asking? :)
