Thread subject: Diptera.info :: odd looking..Bibionidae?

Hi,
Please can anyone help with this? I couldnt get back to sleep so started to try and figure out what it might be,but no luck yet.
Found in rural sussex,on the ground in a mixed wood...from memory maybe 5mm.

A female Dilophus, to narrow it further down.
The wings look clear, which would exclude the common D. febrilis.
In which case, D. femoratus is your best guess.

I forgot, the female of D. humeralis is easily recognized by the short face. So this must be D. femoratus.
