Looks like a probable Philodicus sp.; do you have a higher resolution image of the wing venation?

Subhajit - you should be able to post photos but just make sure that they conform to the rules: <=190Kb in filesize with no unnecessary spaces or punctuation in the filename. :) We prefer people to post photos in the forum and NOT link to external sites because they stay with the thread and are not deleted later ... allowing other people to see them and learn from the threads.

Subhajit,

I have been able to confirm, from closer exam. of your original photo, that your fly is indeed a male Philodicus sp. Can't say which sp., there are many in India.
