Hi evryone,
Today I photographed 3 very characteristic flys (I think so)
Any ideas???
This is the first one, the colors are not fake!

This is the last one

Hello, Joe!
The first one is no Diptera (you can clearly see the
four wings), but Hymenoptera, Symphyta.
No. 2 is a Syrphid, probably genus
Xylota, No. 3 and 4 are Sarcophagidae.

Hello Joe,
It would help if you would indicate the whereabouts of the sites where the pictures were taken. The
Xylota resembles
X. segnis very much, but that does not count for much if you are in North America. ;)

Hi,
sorry about that.
The photo's where taken in Gent, Belgium. At a place where forest turns into meadow. It's a very sunny place. No lake, pond or anything with water is around. Just high gras (50 cm)
Much beech.

so, Xylota segnis is correct.
