23 April 2007 New Brunswick, Canada. Length 10mm
Saw several specimens, most striking to me was the red-tipped scutellum.
Family or better appreciated.

Thanks again Nikita. Seems there are 7 spp. NA. This one looks identical to Susan's M. levida images in the Gallery. M. levida does occur in NA.

I would have guessed M levida because of the very dark palps and no sign of orange on the legs and antennae, but I didn't know what the choices were.
